Meet Lexi...
Lexi Deden #21 is an elementary education major from Missoula who is excited to begin her pre-service teaching this fall at a Bozeman elementary school. Coming from a family of women with deep ties to basketball in Montana, Lexi has participated in sports since childhood and has been a stellar team member as a forward for Montana State Women’s Basketball. Coach Binford described Lexi as “a relentless competitor and a big part of what we are as a team both on and off the court.”
“My teammates are my family, and we share every laugh, tear and triumph together. And Coach Binford challenges us every day to be our best selves, preparing us not just for games, but for life,” said Lexi, “I love being a ’Cat so much!”
During a game at the start of the 2023-24 season, Lexi sustained a knee injury but remained present for the team, leading and supporting from the bench throughout the season. Her determination and effort to recover from injury and be ready to play again this season has been remarkable. We’re thrilled to see Lexi return to the court, and we know she is committed to being an educator and will inspire young children to learn and do their best.
“My time here at Montana State has been unforgettable. The memories I’ve made will last a lifetime, from the incredible student experience to the electrifying atmosphere created by our fans. The cheers of supporters make playing here so rewarding,” Lexi said.
The Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund helps support students like Lexi when they need resources to pursue their dreams or when they face difficulties. But those funds only exist if donors like you give. Lexi appreciates the support she has received from donors. Thanks to our caring community of supporters, she can focus on her studies, pre-service teaching, athletic training and basketball practices while striving to excel. It also allows Lexi time to participate in the team’s outreach service activities.
